4 Easy Rosemary Tea Recipes and How to Make


Rosemary is a member of the mint family. This herb has a good source of fiber, iron and contains antioxidants: carnosic acid and carnosol. Rosemary also contains many phytochemicals like rosmarinic acid, camphor, caffeic acid, ursolic acid, and betulinic acid. Rosemary’s natural chemicals act as stimulants to support your memory. You can use rosemary tea as an herbal remedy to support the brain. The rosemary is also mood enhancing, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and stimulating. We will discuss the health benefits and the side effect of rosemary later. But today I want to share with you 4 healthy rosemary tea recipes I have collected. These recipes are delicious, easy and take short time to brew within five to ten minutes.

Rosemary Tea with Honey


This is the easiest rosemary tea recipes and takes a short time to make. Ingredients you need are for 2 cups of tea:
  • 1 to 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary or 1- 1,5 tsp. of dried rosemary.
  • 3 tsp. of honey
  • 2 cups of boiling water or 500ml of cold tap water if you brew tea in a saucepan.

You need to break the rosemary into small pieces and then you can make rosemary tea with honey in two simple ways. The first way is brewing rosemary as the normal tea. You can put rosemary pieces into boiling water for 8 minutes. As other herbs, rosemary needs a long time steeping. Then you can add some honey and decorate it with some fresh rosemary.

The second ways are boiling or simmering rosemary in the sauce pan for a stronger rosemary taste. You can boil rosemary small pieces with water and honey to slowly boiling. Then when it boiled, reduce the heat and simmer for five minutes. Your rosemary tea is ready after five minutes. If you want stronger rosemary taste you can press the rosemary against the side of the pan to extract the juices.

Rosemary milk tea

Rosemary tea with milk looks nice and tastes very good and refreshing. So what do you need to make one cup of this tea? 
  • 1 cup of milk (250 ml)
  • 1 sprigs of fresh rosemary or 1 tsp. of dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp. of honey
  • And little patience

Break the rosemary into four pieces then put three of the pieces into a saucepan and add the milk. Bring slowly to the boil and reduce the heat to simmer rosemary for five minutes. Simmering the tea will need your patience as you have to stir the milk continuously in five minutes. If you don’t stir the and check it carefully, the heat can burn the milk easily and your rosemary tea will have the smoky taste.

Before serving it you can press the rosemary against the side for stronger tea taste. Then strain the drink and discard the rosemary and decorated with the reserved rosemary floating on top. The rosemary tea with milk can bring you lots of energy and refresh you after a hard working day. You can also make it in the morning too but maybe I do not do that. Instead of that, I would love to have a cup of hot milk with 1 or 2 tsp. of honey. Hot milk with honey also can energize and wake up you. This hot drink might be better than a cup of coffee if you have sleepless or bad sleeping night.   

Rosemary, ginger, and lemon peels

  • 1 small bunch of rosemary
  • 1 inch of ginger, you can slice ginger into small pieces or press it if you like a stronger ginger taste.
  • Peels of ½ lemon (I zest the yellow part of lemon peel to make tea as it contains many antioxidant ingredients.)
  • 2 cups of boiling water
  • 2 tsp. of honey


With teapot, you can put all ingredients in the same time and brew with boiling water 8 minutes. If you need stronger taste you also can boil it in a sauce pan and simmer it for 6 minutes as it is an ideal time to brew ginger. Strain the tea and add more honey if you like sweeter herbal tea.This herbal tea formula is good as all ingredients contain rich sources of antioxidant and vital minerals. The tea also can release cold, flu-like symptoms, bronchitis and clear phlegm.


Mediterranean Rosemary tea with thyme, sage, cinnamon and honey

This original recipe is the Mediterranean wine recipe but I change it into the nonalcoholic recipe. I hope you like it as I do. Ingredients for a cup of rosemary tea are:
  • 500 ml of cold tap water (2 cups)
  • 2 large sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 1 tsp. of sage
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 1 cinnamon bark or ½ tsp. of cinnamon ground
  • 2 tsp. of honey

Boil the water until boiling and put all ingredients into a saucepan. Then simmer all ingredients over low heat for 8 minutes. The ingredients in this Mediterranean herbal tea recipe contain rich sources of antioxidant and minerals. This tea can help you to fight with cold, flu or keep you warm. Moreover, this herbal rosemary tea also can reduce the pain as ginger and rosemary work well with reducing the pain. Daily ginger consumption can reduce muscle pain caused by exercise. Besides it provides you many antioxidants and boosts your immune systems. 

In the picture, I used cinnamon ground which creates the red color. The tea color might change into brown when you use cinnamon bark. The tea color will look alike the hot fig tea with herbs. The recipe will have a quite strong cinnamon taste. You can reduce the cinnamon to 1/3 of tsp. or ½ barks if you like stronger rosemary taste.

This is my very first post for 2014 and I do want to make a healthy drink which is very easy to make, healthy and taste really good. For that reason today I will make 2 types of simple tea: lemon honey tea and lemon ginger tea. These teas are very healthy and you can use it every day to boost your immune system, reduce the colds, wrinkles and support your total health.

The main ingredient of tea is lemon with a high amount of vitamin C. Lemon helps to protect your body against immune system deficiencies, reduces colds, de-toxic your body too. In my drinks I used slice of fresh lemon instead of only fresh lemon juice so that my drinks have a light bitter taste. Do you know that lemon peel is very good to your health?

According to the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference in every 100 gram of lemon peel has 134 milligrams of calcium, 160 milligrams of potassium, 129 milligrams of vitamin C and 10,6 milligram of fiber. Lemon peel can improve the bone health with a high amount of calcium, decrease cholesterol level and boots immunity and digestion too. Besides, the lemon peels contain 30% of pectin which helps our body to reduce the cholesterol. In human digestion, pectin binds to cholesterol in the gastrointestinal tract and slow glucose absorption by trapping carbohydrates. That why I keep lemon peels in my drink. At the beginning you might not like the lemon’s peel bitter taste, but you will like it when you get used to it.

Gingerin lemon honey tea can treat the common cold, flu-like symptoms, headaches and aid digestion. You can use this tea for reduce nausea, and reduce muscle pain too.  


Ingredient:

  • Some slice of fresh lemon: You can cut lemon into thin slice. The thinner the lemon is the better flavor the drinks will be.
  • 2 gram of fresh pressed ginger
  • Honey or salt

First, I will make lemon honey tea:

  • I put some slice of lemon into a cup with 2 tsp. of honey. If you don’t want to use honey, you can put about 0,5gram salt into the drink.
  • Then pour 150-200 ml fresh boiling water into a cup.
  • Wait for 3-5 minutes and now you have very healthy drinks to start a new day.

You can use this tea in every morning to de-toxic your body. Besides, lemon honey tea is very good to your colon health and also serves as a powerful antibacterial.

And now we start to make lemon ginger tea. You can use honey or sugar to sweeten your drink according to your hobby. But you can also make this hot drink with only lemon and ginger.

  • Put 2 gram of fresh ginger and some slice of lemon into a cup.
  • Put 2 tsp. of honey or sugar if you like sweet drink.
  • Pour 150-200 ml of fresh boiling water and wait for 5 minutes.

Honey ginger tea supports your body immune systems, reduces the cold symptoms, flu-like symptoms and cough too. My teas have a bitter taste of lemon’s peels, slight sweet of honey, a lot vitamin C and warm smell of ginger.

Fresh ginger mint tea is very healthy, tasty with the smell of fresh mint leaves and easy to make. How to make fresh ginger mint tea?

Ingredient for one cup

  • 2 gram of ginger 
  • 2 tsp. honey
  • Fresh mint leaves (If you do not have fresh mint leaves you can also use the dried mint leaves too.)

And now here we go:

Step 1: You should prepare 2 gram of ginger first. You can cut or chop ginger into small pieces or press it. I always press ginger because we can exploit or take more ginger’s water and nutrient than cut it.


Step 2: Put ginger, mint leaves and 2 tsp. of honey into a cup or a glass like this.I used my homegrown winter mint leaves to make this drink so the leaves look a little bit small. 


Step 3: Pour 150-200 ml boiling water into a cup and wait for 6 minutes. But why do I need to wait 6 minutes for brewing this tea? Because the best time for brewing fresh mint leaves is 6 minutes and ginger is 5 minutes. So 6 minutes is the ideal time for both mint leaves and ginger to totally brewed.

This is my fresh brewing ginger mint tea. You can see a light yellow color from pressed ginger and green color of mint leaves. Fresh ginger mint tea has a slight smell of mint leaves and sweet and warm taste of ginger and honey. You can have 2 cups of fresh ginger mint tea in a day for reducing the cold symptoms or de-toxic. But do not drink more than 2 cups a day because our body can only consume maximum 5 gram of ginger a day.
Fresh ginger mint tea is my favorite ginger’s recipe and I will always make it if I have fresh mint leaves. If you love ginger or mint leaves you should try this delicious and very healthy drink. Raspberry drink with Honey and Mint


         Today I will share with you my favorite healthy drink recipe made from with red raspberries, mint leaves and honey. This healthy drink is easy to prepare and very good to your body. Your body can absorb many antioxidant, mineral and vitamin C from red raspberries and honey in this healthy drink. As I mentioned in the post ‘‘Health benefits and usages of red raspberry’’, the red raspberry contains high amount of antioxidant that fight against cancer, heart circulatory disease and age-related decline. To make this drink you can use both fresh and frozen red raspberries to make it. 
       
       The mint leaves in the drink can eliminate toxins from your body, cleanses the stomach and clear up skin disorders. I don’t know about you but with me I always prefer the honey to the sugar. Besides the excellence health benefit, the honey has a very relaxing smell. When you combine red raspberries, mint leaves and honey you will have a very tasty healthy drink. Now let start to do this easy and healthy red raspberry drink: 

                                Ingredients:

      1 dl of fresh red raspberries or frozen un-sweetened
      2 tsp. of honey
      4 or 5 mint leaves

A cup of ice


Step 1: Mix 2 tsp. honey with water. You should put a little hot water into cup because it is very hard for honey mixed with cold water. When honey totally melted, you can put more cold water up to 150 ml or a half of cup like this. 



Step 2: Put red raspberries into a cup of honey water. Squeeze the red raspberries and then discard the red raspberry seeds.


Step 3: Cut 5 mint leaves and then put them into the cup with red raspberry. If you want more mint flavor in your drink, you can squeeze cut mint leaves but it might bring a little bitter feeling from squeezed mint leaves to the raspberry drink.

Step 4: Put some ice and enjoy the red raspberry healthy drink. It only takes you about 10 minute or less to prepare this healthy and tasty red raspberry drink. 


This healthy drink got a light sweet taste but not too sweet.  You can enjoy a relaxing flavor which is combined by honey, fresh mint leaves and red raspberry.
